Buy a cargo bike

Choose by load before you choose by looks

Tell me what you carry on an ordinary Tuesday, and how far, before you tell me what colour you like. The right bike is the one that takes your real load without a fight, and it is easy to love the look of a bike that does that.

Linnea

New bikes

Three shapes, three kinds of load

Every new bike is built to order on stand two. The price moves with the motor, the box and the fit-out you choose at the counter, and the bands below cover everything we build.

Two-wheel

Front-loader

39,000-62,000 kr

For one to three children

The box sits low between you and a small front wheel, so the children ride where you can see them and talk to them. It is the quickest of the three through town traffic, but it is the longest, so measure your bike room door before you fall for it.

Two-wheel

Long-tail

42,000-68,000 kr

For two children or a trade pannier load

The load rides behind you over a stretched rear end, on a deck with footrests and a rail, or in two deep panniers. It handles most like an ordinary bike, which makes it the easy choice for anyone nervous about steering a box.

Three-wheel

Three-wheel box

48,000-74,000 kr

For heavy, slow, stable work

Two wheels under the box and one behind you, so it stands on its own at every stop with no kickstand. Some lean through corners on a tilt linkage, some stay flat, and you will ride both on the flat behind the shop. It is slower and wider than the two-wheelers, and nothing else here carries a full trade load as calmly.

Refurbished

Retired from our own hire fleet

18,500-34,000 kr

When a hire bike leaves the fleet we already know its whole history, because every repair it has had was done on our own bench. It goes onto the stand for a full strip service before it goes on sale. The price depends on its age, its motor and its box.

Every refurbished bike leaves with

  • A full strip service, hubs, headset and box hardware
  • A new chain
  • A new cassette
  • New brake pads
  • A 6-month workshop guarantee on the work done
  • A free settling-in check within 8 weeks

Six stages

How a purchase runs

The same order for a 39,000 kr front-loader and a custom trade build. Nobody pays the balance until the bike fits.

  1. 01Ride

    Ride it with your load

30 to 45 minutes on the flat behind the shop with the children or the trade box aboard. Free.

  2. 02Hire

    A week of hire

1,750 kr for a family box bike, Tuesday to Tuesday, taken off the price if you order within 30 days.

  3. 03Order

Order with a 20 percent deposit

Box, motor, rain cover and locks chosen at the counter. The deposit holds your place on stand two.

  4. 04Build

    The build

3 to 5 weeks for a family bike, 6 to 8 for a trade build, with every load-bearing bolt torque marked. A pencil line goes inside the box at the height of the tallest child it was fitted for, dated, so at the next service I can see how much they have grown.

  5. 05Fit

    Fitting ride, then the balance

Saddle, bar reach and brake levers set on a ride round the block. The remaining 80 percent is paid then.

  6. 06Check

    The settling-in check

Free, within 8 weeks of handover, once the cables have stretched and the spokes have bedded in.

For the trade

Decks and boxes for 80 to 150 kg a day

Gardeners, window cleaners, caterers and couriers carry 80 to 150 kg every working day. A trade bike that stops costs you a day's work, so trade builds are planned around what goes in the box and how fast you need it back from the bench.

Flat decks

An open deck with lashing points for crates, ladders and garden tools, cut to the width you need. Custom decks take 6 to 8 weeks from order.

Lockable boxes

A closed box that locks, for anyone who leaves the bike at the kerb while they carry in. Sized around the crates and cases you already use.

Fleets of two to six

590 kr Per bike, per month

Every bike on the monthly plan: one bench service each quarter and a mobile check every fortnight, with Mondays kept for fleet work.

Getting it home

Every bike leaves with its rider

Bikes are handed over after a fitting ride, never boxed and shipped, so we do not send bikes out of Skåne. After the ride you can pedal it home or have us bring it.

What we will not sell or fit

  • Derestricted motors No motor sold, fitted or tuned here will assist past 25 km/h. A loaded box bike needs far more road to stop than most riders expect.
  • Passenger kits on unrated boxes Child seats and belts only go into boxes and frames that were built to carry passengers.
  • Conversion kits on unrated frames Electric conversion kits only go on cargo frames built to take the added weight and torque.
